COVID didn't create educational inequities, it exposed them.
Kayla Nunnally is an Orton-Gillingham reading specialist working with The Indy Learning Team. She talks about the impact of 1-1 tutoring with a reading specialists and the education inequalities exposed by COVID.
"Some people call it an achievement gap, but it is really an opportunity gap. It's not that {low income, Black and Brown students} can't learn to read at grade level, they are often not provided the instruction they need."
